Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of layahost (the “Service”), operated by Nielogiczny Karol Labuda, Luzińska 2, 84-217 Zęblewo, Poland, NIP (tax ID) PL5882505100, REGON 526924027 (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the API you accept them.

1. The Service

layahost provides an API that returns typed decisions (choices, yes/no probabilities and scores) about text you send. It runs the open-source Laya model by Convai Innovations (Apache-2.0). layahost is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Convai Innovations or TypeSafe AI. “Jev” is a name of TypeSafe AI, used only to describe API compatibility.

2. Accounts and API keys

• You must give accurate account details and keep your password and API keys secret. You are responsible for all use of your keys.
• Revoke a key immediately in the console if you think it leaked.
• You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract, or act for a business that is.

3. Prepaid credit and pricing

• The Service is prepaid. Each answered question (“decision”) is charged at the price shown on the Billing page when the request is made. Failed or rejected requests are not charged.
• Credit is sold in US dollars through Stripe. Prices exclude taxes unless stated at checkout.
• Credit does not expire while your account is active. Accounts with no activity for 24 months may be closed after 30 days’ email notice.
• New accounts may receive a one-off welcome credit. It is promotional, limited to one per person or organisation, has no cash value and is never refunded, and we may withdraw it where accounts are created to collect it more than once.
• Credit is non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise or we end the Service without cause, in which case we refund unused credit.
• We may change prices with 30 days’ notice. Changes apply to requests made after they take effect.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the Service in your own products and workflows. You must not:

• send content you have no right to process, or use the Service for unlawful purposes;
• try to disrupt, overload, probe or bypass the Service’s security or rate limits;
• resell raw API access as a standalone service without our written agreement;
• use outputs as the sole basis for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on people (for example employment, credit, housing, healthcare or law enforcement) without meaningful human review.

5. Outputs

Outputs are statistical predictions and can be wrong. You are responsible for how you use them, including thresholds, human review and compliance with laws that apply to your use case. As between you and us, you own your inputs and the outputs you receive.

6. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but provide the Service without a service level agreement. We may change or discontinue features, models or endpoints; we will give reasonable notice of changes that break the documented API.

7. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, fail to pay or put the Service at risk; where possible we will warn you first.

9. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Poland; the courts competent for our registered office have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections. Questions: [email protected].
